Current Projects
A number of critical initatives have been identified and are awaiting financial security to make a reality:
Grain for Life
Set up a fund that would supplement the cost of food needed to feed the 500 children cared for by the Foundation within the 7 different orphanages. Rice is the staple diet for the children and their requirement is over 200 kilos per day.
Building Project at Melaya Orphanage
Urgent need for a new kitchen and preparation room for the senior students in Melaya. There are over 100 students aged 13 – 16 and their present cooking facilities are unsanitary due to the level of disrepair and its location next to a pig sty.
Cultural Exchange trip
A visit to Singapore for a group of children from the Widhya Asih Foundation Orphanages, to spend time interacting with the international school community, conducting workshops for students in gamelan and traditional dance and performances to schools and the general public.
Scholarships
Provide scholarships to graduating students from the Foundation to allow them to take on tertiary education.
